These are the four questions we get most often.
Yes, during visiting hours you can come without an appointment. If you are looking for a particular dog, a quick call first saves you a wasted trip: they might be out for a walk or staying with a foster family.
Adoption has a standard fee, the same for every dog, covering vaccinations, microchipping, neutering or spaying and a veterinary check-up. You can ask us the amount at the shelter when you visit, or over the phone.
Call, do not write: in these cases every hour counts. If the animal is injured or on the road, contact the local police or 112 first. We are not an animal collection service, but we can tell you who to turn to in Oliva.
And something important: if the dog has an owner, we cannot take it away, even if it looks as though it is not being cared for properly. Only the authorities can remove an animal from its owner — the local police or the Guardia Civil's SEPRONA — and only after looking into the case. If you suspect mistreatment, report it to them: we have no power to step in ourselves.
Yes, and we need them badly. You can bring things during visiting hours. The list of what we need most right now is under How to help.
